I’m officially a college graduate! Woohoo! Last week my graduating Marymount Manhattan class and I walked across the stage at Lincoln Center to receive our diplomas and now we are officially ready to take on the world! Or, you know, at least, the next audition.
I also had the pleasure of performing with my beloved cast of Wonderland at the West End lounge last Monday as invited guests, and we had a blast, performing our favorite Frank Wildhorn stuff along with a lot of other crazy shenanigans (check out my Instagram for a little sneak at my performance).
This past semester I had the chance to shadow/assist the Daily Dance class of one of my favorite professors, and meet so many amazing and motivated underclassmen who have already gone on to accomplish so much at the beginning of their college careers. Though they all come from very different levels of dance, their enthusiasm and willingness to put themselves out there reminded me of why I love dance so much – it brings people together, and it brings joy to both the performers and the audience. It was so wonderful to graduate with that reminder, and I plan on continuing to make dance an important part of my life.
Now, of course, comes the time for me to keep taking classes, keep auditioning, keep working and put my degree to good use! I have no idea where I’m headed right now, but I’m excited to start getting there.
